Hamilton on pole as Red Bulls beat Rosberg (China – Qualifying)

Lewis Hamilton will start the Chinese GP from pole position after beating the two Red Bulls in wet qualifying.

Hamilton achieved his third pole of the year with a lap time of 1:53.860 on intermediate tyres, six tenths of a second quicker than Daniel Ricciardo. The Australian was half a second ahead of his teammate Sebastian Vettel, while Nico Rosberg starts fourth after a couple of mistakes and a spin in the final part of qualifying.

Fernando Alonso starts fifth ahead of the two Williams drivers, who are ahead of Nico Hulkenberg and Jean-Eric Vergne, while Romain Grosjean achieved Lotus’ first top ten of the season. Kimi Raikkonen and Jenson Button were eliminated in Q2 and will share row six. Kevin Magnussen and Sergio Perez are on row eight.

Pastor Maldonado did not run at all as his car was under repairs.
